Program:
10:30-12:00 Government Recordkeeping & Reporting - (2 hours)
This two-hour session that provides an overview of receiving awards from the federal government. This session will focus primarily on understanding the importance and requirements related to grant recordkeeping and reporting. The requirements of an adequate accounting system will be discussed, as well as a series of takeaways, to avoid the typical, costly mistakes most firms make when proposing, tracking, and reporting on federal awards.

George is a certified public accountant (CPA) with more than 25 years in public accounting and commercial business. From his experience in helping awardees from all agencies, he has developed training manuals, workshops and seminars in the recordkeeping and reporting compliance areas of government contracting. George earned a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from Suffolk University where he currently serves as Director of Entrepreneurship Programs as well as being a member of the entrepreneurship faculty. George served in senior management positions in the private sector, including roles as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Operations in an aerospace support company that provided metrology products and services to the Department of Defense and NASA. George has successfully assisted multiple companies in commercializing and growing their operations. One of his most notable success stories came when assisting his client SmartCells, Inc. as they were acquired by Merck & Company, Inc. for over $500 million. George continues to work with start-ups of various sizes and in various industries
