IEP/504 Caregiver Support Group at SAFE Coalition
You do not have to navigate special education alone.
Caring for a child who has learning differences, a health-related diagnosis, or an IEP or 504 plan can feel overwhelming and isolating. SAFE's IEP/504 Caregiver Support Group offers a supportive space to connect with other caregivers, learn practical strategies, and explore helpful resources.
In this group you can:- Connect with other caregivers who are facing similar challenges
- Learn strategies for working through hard moments with your child
- Learn how to advocate effectively in school, health care, and social settings
- Find curated resources and guidance for your child's needs
- August 20: Prepare to advocate for your child. Get organized for the school year and build an advocacy binder.
- September 10: IEP/504 form walkthrough. Go through the forms section by section so the paperwork makes sense.
- September 24: Understanding the assessment process. Learn how evaluations work, what the results mean, and what happens next.
Facilitated by Karen Bean, LCSW and SAFE Clinician.
